Directions
Wheeling Heritage Port, the site of all Wheeling Vintage Raceboat Regatta activities, is easy to find!
If you are coming from the east, because of the closure of the Wheeling Tunnel you will have to make a detour to get to Heritage Port. (If you are coming with a raceboat and Mapquest gives you directions which do not agree with these...trust us, follow what is written here!) From I-70, take the exit for Oglebay Park, exit 2A. Proceed down the ramp past Kroger, and turn left onto Rt. 40 West at the 2nd traffic light. Stay on Rt. 40 for a couple of miles, eventually going up Wheeling Hill. Stay on Rt. 40 at the top of the hill by bearing slightly right, keeping the Mingo Indian statue that is part of our Regatta logo on your left. Go down the hill, and turn right at the bottom. Immediately get into the left lane, and turn left onto Rt. 2 South/Main Street. Follow Rt. 2/Main Street to 12th Street, and turn right onto 12th toward Heritage Port. If you have a raceboat, pull up as far as you can on 12th and someone will come to tow your boat into the pits. If you aren't bringing a raceboat, continue past 12th Street to 14th Street and turn right to park in the parking garage.
If you are coming from the east, take Interstate 70 to Exit 1A immediately beyond the Wheeling Tunnel. Be sure you are in the right lane going through the Tunnel, and exit to the right. The exit ramp has 2 lanes; you may use either lane for the left turn at the end of the ramp. Once you have turned left, you are on Main Street. Follow Main Street to 12th Street, approximately 1/2 mile. Turn right at 12th and Main, and Heritage Port is immediately in front of you.
If you are coming from the west, take Interstate 70 to Exit 1A. Follow the exit ramp to the right onto Main Street. Follow Main Street to 12th Street, approximately 1/2 mile. Turn right at 12th and Main, and Heritage Port is immediately in front of you.
If you are bringing your vintage raceboat to participate in the Regatta, park temporarily on 12th Street and proceed to the registration trailer located at the top of Heritage Port. After you have registered, your raceboat will be taken to the pits by one of our tractors. Parking will be extremely tight during Regatta weekend in the parking lots near Heritage Port. You will receive a parking pass and a designated place to park one vehicle in these lots. We ask that you park any other support vehicles on Main Street or in the parking garage on 14th Street.
If you are a vendor for the Regatta, please note that you will be able to park one vehicle in the parking lots at the top of Heritage Port and will receive a parking pass and designated parking place. Please park all other vehicles on Main Street or in the parking garage on 14th Street.
If you are coming to Heritage Port as a spectator, you may park along Main Street (or other Wheeling streets) if available, or in the parking garage on 14th Street, one block past 12th Street.
